Using 2.4Ghz network i got around 50 - 80 mbps . 5Ghz using my laptop got around 120 - 150 mbps and 5Ghz on my phone got around 100 mbps . Im using default router Dlink AC1200 dir842 . I know the router cant support 800mbps but isnt it too slow even on default router ?
my cable from btu to royter is yellow cat5e cable , should i change it too ?
for your laptop , try using wired network cable connect and test , see can get higher ?
for wifi , there is some limit issue , can refers below for info
Frequency Theoretical Speed Real-World Speed
2.4 GHz (802.11b) | 11 Mbps | 2-3 Mbps |
2.4 GHz (802.11g) | 54 Mbps | 10 -29 Mbps |
2.4 GHz (802.11n) | 300 Mpbs | 150 Mbps |
5 GHz (802.11a) | 6-54 Mbps | 3 - 32 Mbps |
5 GHz (802.11ac) | 433 Mbps - 1.7 Gbps | 210 Mbps - 1 G |
5 GHz (802.11n) | 900 Mbps | 450Mbps |
check your network/wireless connect speed , for my DWA-125 wireless Adapter , near TM router so it get 150Mpbs , if distance far or block by any wall , it may get lower , at my room it only get about 72Mbps
my unifi is 30mpbs , so there is no any issue for lower speed get , if my plan is 100Mbps , the 150mbps will no problem , but for the 72mbps i only can get max 72mbps ,
distance , other device using same band also will effect the speed
Hi try change your router Channel to band 4 (149-165) under 5Ghz wifi. You can find this at Wireless Settings or Advanced Settings. tq
that modem theoretical wireless speed on 5Ghz Band is around 867 Mbps,
in real world case, the speed will be lower than that,
so you will need to get a new router to fully optimize your Unifi 800 Mbps.
